Bad follow up on warranty, nonchalant feedback

AI Highlights
  • - Generator faulty weeks after purchase; service centre gave a poor response; barely used.
  • - I was asked to pay for parts and repair despite warranty.

Some weeks after purchase, the generator was faulty and I contacted the service centre, had a very poor response from them. After a month, I was asked to pay for parts and fixing of my genset, understanding warranty.

A genset that's barely used. I haven't even used the generator to understand why I am being charged for what I don't know.

User's recommendation: Make sure you they warranty card before purchasing

I use Shopfactory to build and upload my website. No problems so far to upload my site (15 years) until I believe the 16th of December 2025.

I get an error message that my credentials are not correct. See file in attachment. ShopFactory Gold 14.6.0 Build 24151 Account name: mj-1963-tk PS: Recently while logging into the iPage environment, I was proposed to upgrade my PHP version. Not sure if related, but since that moment I cannot upload files to my webshop.

Thanks for your help. Best regards, Xavier Heurtin

I was with PowWeb - they merged or took over PowWeb. Then screwed me.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Unauthorized $300.58 PowWeb OnePlan charge (invoice #54767****).
  • - Could not reach PowWeb by phone or site; accounts and domains inaccessible.
Updated by user Oct 20, 2025

They can't refund something so old, I guess. I did not expect it anyways.

I closed my account, and more importantly canceled my credit card. But I was able to reach someone, and they were thoughtful and helpful.

Make sure your family or close friend has access to all of the places that might charge your credit card should you be incapacitated. I did not do that.

Original review Oct 20, 2025
RSome of this may have been solved when it occurred, perhaps, if I wasn't in the hospital having open heart surgery. Which makes me wonder, who approved the $300.58 charge for a "PowWeb OnePlan", invoice #54767****, billed on 10/21/23 - and I don't even know what hospital I was in at that time.

Right after the surgery I had emergency again and this time it was a stint. I'm obviously retired, and PowWeb over the years was decent, but I don't access anything there anymore, and I certainly did not authorize that charge! I tried calling their number, 1-87*-***-****, many times. No answer.

No voice mail. Go to their site... try to find a way to connect on the web live with anyone... nope.

I closed my credit card after I realized I had this issue, and I thought I could delete my account and another account that I had started also a long time ago. Nope. Can't access them either. What happened to the integrity of PowWeb?

I'll cancel my card. Neither domain. conxtek.com. or.

growningold.com are accessible to me, but they say the domain is open until 2028.

How in the *** could that be? Don't go near these guys is my advice.

Failed e-mail service, with no way to talk to anyone live at Ipage/Verio

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Verio/Ipage won't accept passwords that worked yesterday.
  • - Support lines hang up; chat isn't helpful.
  • - No info on when or if fix will occur.

Unable to get e-mails anymore (Verio/Ipage) refuses to accept passwords that we've been using for years, and that worked just yesterday. Their customer support phone numbers just hang up automatically, and chat is not very helpful. E-mail is dead, with no real information as to when or if it will be fixed.

Pros:
  • Inexpensive
Cons:
  • Unable to reach any live support ipage gives no phone numbers

Preferred solution: Urgently get our e-mail accounts working on, as we depend on our e-mail for orders and customer support.

User's recommendation: Avoid IPage, as they do not have effective customer service.

Inability to refund recent purchases

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

  • - 15 years with iPage and SiteLock.

iPage - Inability to refund recent purchases

I have used iPage for about 15 years to host my website and provide security through SiteLock. Assuming that everything was fine, I kept renewing their multiple services every 2-3 years.

I recently hired a new web designer to bring our website up to date, just after a round of renewals with iPage. I shelled out over $1,000. Now that the new developer can offer everything that I was getting at iPage, I attempted to cancel my subscriptions. The only thing they could do was have me shut off the auto renewal feature.

I enquired about a refund and they told me that I would have needed to cancel before the renewal date in order to get a refund.

Tom Waits once sang, 'The large print giveth and the small print taketh away.' I'm feeling ripped off. Stay away from iPage.

I’m experiencing issues connecting to my website. Each time I try, I receive the following message: www.ipage.com — Please unblock challenges.cloudflare.com to proceed.

AI Highlights
  • - Unable to access services after paying for two years upfront.
  • - No phone or chat support is available.

I feel completely deprived of the ability to conduct my business because of iPage. In my experience, this company has proven to be unreliable, and I strongly advise others to avoid them.

It has been weeks now, and I am still unable to connect to their services despite having paid for two years in advance. They do not answer phone calls, and there is no available way to reach them through chat or support

Garrrrbage, scammy company!!!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - The company is scammy and expensive.
  • - You can't delete data; it's parked; you must chat.
  • - Domain transfers renew if late, with no grace periods.

Garbage company. Super scammy.

You ask for them to delete your account and they 'park' it - you cannot delete your own information off their website, you are forced to deal with their chat. It takes a while since they want to keep their hooks in you. So gross.

Please avoid at all costs.

I have used them forever since college when I didn't know any better - they are expensive, inflexible, and absolutely subpar in terms of what they offer. If you want to transfer your domain, they will force you into renewing if you are simply one day past the renewal rate - no grace periods, no nothing. Absolutely horrible company.

I've spent thousands of dollars and this is the thanks I get. I will not be recommending them whatsoever (I work in tech and know a lot of people).

Originally w StartLogic for hosting. No way to reach iPage

AI Highlights
  • - iPage servers unresponsive; site servers down.
  • - Phone and email support appear non-functional; reply directs to KB; BlueHost denies relation.

iPage servers do not respond so you cant reach them via the web. Their phone is not working and their email auto reply gives links to their KB and site servers are down. Their reply also says to phone them at and theres nothing after that so, back to the non-working phones.

Absolute rip off!

BlueHost says they have nothing to do with iPage so they cannot help either.

Beware!

Billing issue

unable to add credit card to make payment. Do not want to use PayPal to pay for hosting.

Entering CC# and all necessary information does not permit clicking "Submit" button. Attempted multiple times. Looking for a different hosting service now because I am unable to talk with a live person.

This company has gone down the drain within the last 2-3 years. Sad really.
