Retain your sanity. If you want a good hosting service, this is not the place to come to. I had to leave. I was paying them roughly $120 a month. But, can't get any support. I do not see how they can survive with this model. I give them 2 years at most. They will have to sell or bring in new management. We use to get live support, with people able to talk coherently and work you through solutions. Now, you are on your own, basically. Whether it is in the Shared environment of their VPS service, you will not be able to win with them. It is as if the customer does not count, and effort is made, modeled, engineered and executed just to ensure that you as the customer, you never get to have access to quality support. As their customer, you are a problem that they try to avoid at all costs. If you don't believe me, try it.

India Calling and Spamming

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I just signed up with i Page and have no complaints (yet) about their program or service. My complaint is that they gave my name, phone number, email address and web page address to all of India and half the world. I have been inundated with emails from every spam artist imaginable, and my phone doesn't stop ringing. Every person in the world with an Indian accent is calling me. I certainly didn't expect this from a company like this. This is totally uncalled for. In all fairness, Go-Daddy gave my email address to everybody, too, but, at least they didn't give everybody my name and private phone number. They did have a certain amount of decency. I find this to be a total invasion of my privacy, so guess who will not renew with i Page in three years.

Horrible experience!

After selecting for my domaind and web hosting service to be manually renewed and "not" automatically renewed, it was still automatically renewed. After calling and requesting that my c/c be taken off of file, it was never taken off of file, but instead, it was rather charged several times w out my authorization! After calling back and speaking w several CSR's filing a complain which was suppose to be sent to "escalation", that also was never done! I am currently seeking legal advice through my lawyer at this point in time, as justice must be served. If an individual takes your money they are considered to be a theef and a criminal, but when i-page does it, all that happens is that You have a customer service rep. tell You; "Sorry but nothing can be done." I am not an angry client making up a story that never happened, but rather I am telling My story of what happened to me. I can go on about several other charges that I incurred such as the "domain protection" which I specifically stated; "I do not want." But I was still charged for domain protection anyways! Buyer Beware and my advice; "Stay far, far away from i-page!" FAR AWAY!

Extremely Poor Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Never able to get my issues resolved from untrained staff in the Phillipines or live chat staff. They provide incorrect information. I was told several times by different staff that there wasn't any way to set up store search by color options. I knew that was wrong, so I kept looking around and figured out how do set it up. I usually experience long hold times, half the time I can't understand them due to strong accent, they provide incorrect information, refuse to provide forwarding assistance to supervisors or other phone numbers that may be able to help me or allow me to file a complaint. There isn't a print link option (I'm told) where you can print or download your buyer's order form.

They look for opportunities to dishonestly charge you

They "renewed" my domain privacy even though I had no domains with them, and my only credit card on file was listed on their site as expired in 2015. Clearly a dishonest practice. It doesnt make sense, if I have no domain, why could they renew domain privacy.....They refused to make it right/back it out. Had to contact credit card company. {{redacted}}

HORRIBLE KEEPING MY DOMAINS UP

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

STAY AWAY FROM IPAGE! Since outsourcing, they suck!

Foreigners can't understand courtesy of American ways. Training please! I have contacted ipage each month since September - Jan. Each month they want money for something!

They renewed my privacy, them a domain I had already deleted! They took down my other domains because they could not renew that one! Now my book website is down for the same reason, for a domain name i no longer want so they take down all my other domains for me to call in I guess. I don't have time to call EVERY month for their mistakes.

I feel stuck yet researching!!! STAY AWAY FROM IPAGE!

Terrible customer support & scammer sales practices

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have been on hold 20 minutes and no sign of a human picking up. Usually, when someone does finally pick up, the call is originating from the Phillipines. The people are super nice and sweet, but they have not been properly trained by iPage and often give incorrect information. I used to be able to get competent support during the work day out of the US, but now I get overseas no matter when I call. My latest debacle is that I was put on renew when a sales person sold me a WordPress feature. When I was autobilled, I called to cancel. I was told it could not be cancelled. I tried to go up the chain to supervisors, but there is no way to contact anyone but support for iPage. The upper level supervisors and managers hide. There is no email or contact information for them, nor will they contact you. I promised I would go on social media to let everyone know my plight, and the next day I received an email from Chithrashree P Billing Specialist saying my money would be refunded and the feature had been cancelled. What he didn't say was that he also ruined my 9 websites and they all went offline. Yes, I would say he purposely screwed with my account. In the end, paying $36 would have been easier than the 5 days of *** I have had. The sites are still offline. I finally got a person after 20 minutes and then was put on hold and eventually cut off before getting any help. You don't want to host with iPage. While their dashboard is simple to use, the second you have an issue, you will wish you had gone elsewhere.

What a horrible customer service process! Don't even get started with iPage...you'll be sorry.

Several years ago, I didn't have any problems. I usually got someone in the US that was able to understand and help me. Now I always get someone in the Phillipines that doesn't seem trained at all! I have to repeat myself, they put me on hold while they attempt to read instructions or call someone else for answers and I still don't get my issues resolved.

I tried live chat as well and same problems. Example, I called + live chatted 4 times for the same issue and got the same answer...we don't have anyway to set up filters for colors ("it's not a service we provide"). I knew that didn't make sense so I finally figured it out myself so customers could browse by color in my store. There isn't any place on the store's order documents that display a link to print the order or download the document.

There isn't anyway to set my products up in alpha order. I can put them in order for the first page, but not the entire inventory.

The staff REFUSE to transfer me to a supervisor or provide any other phone numbers to obtain better assistance. What a scam service.

Outrageously bad customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
There is ALWAYS something that needs the update or changed just to stay online. I would often come back to my site, maybe even after just one day, to find that some other application was no longer working or that I needed a newer version and a blank homepage on my site. Irritating, to say the least. So it`s extremely expensive if you look deeper! I can only suggest learning as much as you can before buying iPage, for instance: https://webhostinggeeks.com/providers/ipage - statistical data and honest reviews. It doesn't worth of any money! I wouldn't recommend using it even it was for free! If you wanna troubles, iPage is your best choice!

still waiting for someone from iPage to contact me

Original review Nov 24, 2017
I have tried to reason with iPage and have been on hold for an hour trying to get them to pay back overcharges of $900 for automatic monthly billing for "concierge services," which I thought were for one month, not continuous. It is always by electronic chatting and no personal help. I recommend not believing their $1.99 per month ad! I don't know what else to say. I had two people helping me with my bookkeeping and one alerted me to the automatic billing and I called them to stop it. It didn't stop. The second one alerted me that it was still happening, and I transferred my account to another service and told them (for one hour) to stop the service. They refused to be reasonable. I hope I am done with them.

Ipage makes unauthorized on web pages no longer hosted by them and cancelled accounts

I moved my web page that was hosted by Ipage to a different host in December 2016. I also cancelled the account to prevent services from automatically renewing with the help of an Ipage specialist,.

But in 2017 Ipage made four charges for service. They claimed that the account was not cancelled and it did not matter that the web page was no longer hosted by them. I asked how they could charged for service on a web page that was no longer with them. They said hosting was different from the account, When I insisted that the account was cancelled, the specialist argued that it was not cancelled.

When I presented a letter dated December 7, 2016 from an Ipage specialist stating that the web page was transferred to Go Daddy, they argued that it was transferred but the account was still active. The argument continued with it being their word against mine that the account was cancelled. Then another new charge came in from them. When I complained that another charge came in even while we were disputing the others.

the specialist asked if I wanted to cancel the account, I said of course, you should have done that already. Also I knew they would not cancel it anyway.

I finally gave up and am now in the process of disputing the charges with Pay Pal. DO NOT get mixed up with this hosting company.

I have also had outrageous billing from iPage and would like to know if there is a class action suit against them. I signed up for $1.99 per month and eventually they were automatically billing me (which I didn't understand) almost $100 per month.

My site renewal isn’t due until the end of December but it was suspended today 11/22/17. I cancelled automatic renewal so they couldn’t get pymt early and my site is now suspended. It was almost impossible to reach anyone to fix it and they said I had to pay first

The most worse hosting provider

I did a payment to renew my domain name $16.99 and they charged me $16.99 and $155 with out my knowledge. I would rate them ---5 if there is an option.

such a cheating company, and the customer service is a ***. Lets say you are blessed to contact the customer Angel (sorry its Agent), then you had to deal with explaining things in super detail as they do not understand anything at all, and they take some extra minutes to reply (could be having coffee). Finally, I had to waste some hours and end up with no proper solution.

iPage offers an incredibly budget friendly plan advertised at just $1.89 per month however, that deal is only available to first-time clients, meaning that once your initial service is up, you are forced to sign at a higher monthly rate to continue your service. In the case of iPage, your rate will jump to around $8.99 per month when you renew your hosting plan not exactly the incredible deal that draws customers in, but in many cases, clients get stuck because of the hassle to find a new hosting provider and make the switch.

God! My money is also ripped off!

Since when do they keep the commission in advance?! I was shocked when they charged from my account three times, although I did not ask for anything.

And besides, I could not contact the iPage`s support for a long time. Here's the result: https://webhostinggeeks.com/providers/ipage
